Boasting an excellent surgery and pharmacy, a first-class primary school, a friendly and efficient post office and an exceptional library, Willingham is a largely self-contained village ideally located at the centre of the Cambridge/Ely/St. Ives triangle.
It has a good selection of businesses including a conference centre, an auction centre, two cafés, DIY and other specialist shops, garages, a baker and a butcher, two mini-markets/convenience stores, plus some excellent eateries and two popular pubs. These are complemented by a delicatessen and a choice of take-aways as well as mobile fresh fish and fish’n’chips vendors.
Various tradespeople offering the full gamut of building, decoration, maintenance and repair services have set up business in the village, as have tutors, physiotherapists, alternative medicine practitioners, masseurs and beauticians.
Births, marriages and deaths are likewise catered for with toddlers’ groups, a fine church, a highly engaged tabernacle and our own undertakers and stonemasons!
And for those moments in between, you could do worse than join one of the many sports and activity clubs – or even the Willingham Social Club itself. The possibilities are endless!
